This lot consists of the following Commonwealth bayonets: 1. BRITISH P1888 BAYONET. Brightly finished metal with hardwood handles. Bayonet measures 16 1/2" overall with an 11 3/4" blade. Blade has 5-1891 date & various British ordnance markings. Pommel has "A.A.S.C./1585" marking. No scabbard present. CONDITION: Metal is mostly turning gray with scattered oxidation & dings. Handles show scattered dings & handling wear. 2. AUSTRALIAN P1907 BAYONET. Bayonet measures 21 3/4" with 17" blade. Lithgow made P1907 bayonet with arsenal parkerized finish. Blade has broad arrow with "OA", "MA" markings & 5-43 date. Hardwood handles with faint 1943 Slaz marking. Pommel numbered "65657". Black leather scabbard present that shows several gash marks on bottom. CONDITON: blade shows overall worn finish with some oxidation spots. Crossguard & pommel show fading to gray & some light dings. Hardwood grips show some light chips, scattered dings & handling marks. 3. BRITISH P1907 BAYONET. Bayonet measures 21 3/4" w/ 17" blade. Wilkinson made P1907 bayonet. Blade dated 11-17 & marked with various British ordnance ordnance proofs. Metal parts have arsenal rework black enamel & parkerized finishes. Hardwood handle. CONDITION: metal parts show scattered flaking & edge wear. Hardwood handles show scattered dings & some gouges. 4. BRITISH NO.9 MK1 BAYONET. Post WW2 British No. 9 MKI bayonet sealed in wrapper. Scabbard does not appear to be present. CONDITION: sealed in arsenal wrapper with label. 5. BRITISH NO4 SPIKE BAYONET. Bayonet measures 10" overall with 8" blade. Bayonet has broad arrow marking but no other visible markings. No scabbard present. CONDITION: bayonet shows some staining, edge wear, dings & silvering. (02-21222-1/MJC). $200-400.
