ORIGINAL POUCH. Lot of 5 MP40 submachine gun 32-rd. mags. with pouch, including: 1) x1 mag. with "bte" mfg. code, Eagle/WaAB37 proofing (Frankische Eisenwerke AG), and "41" date code. 2) x1 mag. with "fxo" mfg. code. Eagle/WaA815 proofing (C.G. Haenel) , and "42" date code. 3) x1 mag. with "kur" mfg. code, Eagle/WaA815 proofing (Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG), and "42" date code. 4) x1 mag. with "kur" mfg. code, Eagle/WaA815 proofing (Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG), and "43" date code. 5) x1 mag. with "ayf" mfg. code, Eagle/280 proofing (Erma-Werke), and "43" date code. 6) x1 original German WWII MP40 submachine gun 3-cell mag. pouch. Pouch is constructed of tan canvas with black leather fittings. Rear of upper belt loop is marked "clg" (Ernst Melzig Lederwaren), followed by an indiscernible double stamped Eagle/WaA proof, and "43" date code, with "MP38u.40" marked on the rear of the lower loop. CONDITION: mags. show varying degrees of wear that has faded to gray patina, but all otherwise appear sound and serviceable. Erma mag. exhibits scattered patches and areas of moderate pitting and Frankische Eisenwerke AG mag. exhibits mild pitting with patches / areas of oxidative finish loss. Mag. pouch appears to have not been issued, retaining good coloration and markings. Leather fittings remain malleable, exhibiting some spots of age related cracking, with the "D" ring exhibiting exhibiting dark discoloration and surface oxidation. (02-26573-2/MLW).
