AMMUNITION PACKS. Lot of 6 U.S. Civil War revolver ammunition packs, including: 1) 6-rd. pack of .44 caliber ammunition mfg. for Colt's Model 1860 Army revolver by Hazard Powder Co. Paper envelope style packaing features a label on the front that reads "PRESSED WATERPROOF/ CARTRIDGES,/ For COLT'S ARMY PISTOL./ Patented March 18, 1862./ MANUFACTURED BY THE HAZARD POWDER CO.,/ HAZARDVILLE, CONN.". CONDITION: paper pack is good, showing some creasing, with several tears along the top edge from projectiles. Label remains mostly intact and completely legible, with some minor losses along edges, most notably at the bottom left corner. 2) x1 6-rd. pack of .36 caliber ammunition for Colt, Whitney, or Remington's Navy pistols. Pack is comprised of a wood block with paper wrapping, featuring a label that reads "Six Seamless Skin/ CARTRIDGES,/ FOR COLT, WHITNEY, OR REMINGTON'S/ NAVY PISTOL,/ 36-100 Calibre./ Hotchkiss Patent, Feb. 11th, 1862./ Manufactured for W. J. SYMS & BRO.,/ 300 BROADWAY, NEW WOYK,/ By D.C. SAGE, Middletown, Conn.". Upper panel of wrapping has been removed, with all 6-rds. remaining present. CONDITION: packaging is good, showing age related discoloration, with a small tear present at the upper right corner of the label. Projectiles exhibit lead carbonate. 3) x1 sealed 6-rd. pack of .44 caliber ammunition for Remington, Colt, and other revolvers. Pack exhibits paper wrapped packaging and features a label that reads "6 Combustible Envelope/ CARTRIDGES,/ Made of American Powder Co.'s Powder,/ FOR REMINGTON'S, COLT'S, & OTHER/ Revolving Holster Pistol, 44-100 inch Calibre./ WARRENT SUPERIOR QUALITY". Pack is wrapped in protective plastic packaging. CONDITION: pack is good, showing general age related discoloration, a couple of spots of darker discoloration, as well as a tear along the right edge of the label. Bottom flat of pack is inclining slightly rearward. 4) x1 6-rd. box (1-rd. present) of .44 caliber ammunition for Colt revolvers. Box is comprised of cardboard, featuring a label that reads "6 Combustible Envelope/ CARTRIDGES,/ Made of Hazard's Powder, EXPRESSLY FOR COLT'S PATENT/ Revolving Holster Pistol,/ 44/100 inch Calibre./ WARRANTED SUPERIOR QUALITY". Pack is accompanied by x1 cartridge and x5 paper cartridge envelopes. CONDITION: box shows age related discoloration, with some separation of the paper packaging present on the left label edge, and with the right panel having been torn open (at 3 edges, rear edge still attached). Label remains clear and legible. 5) x1 6-rd. pack of .36 caliber ammunition for Colt revolvers. Pack is comprised of a 2-piece wood block in paper packaging, featuring a label that reads "6 Combustible Envelope/ CARTRIDGES/ MADE OF HAZARD'S POWDER/ EXPRESSLY FOR/ COL. COLT'S PATENT/ REVOLVING BELT PISTOL./ ADDRESS/ COLT'S CARTRIDGE WORKS/ U S AMERICA". Pack has been opened, with all 6-rds. and the pull wire remaining present. CONDITION: pack is good, showing general age related discoloration overall, with some tattering and small tears present along the edges of the paper packaging where opened. Top panel of paper packaging remains intact. 6) x1 12-rd. box of .45 caliber ammunition for the Colt Model 1873 and Smith & Wesson Model 1875 Schofield revolvers. Box is constructed of cardboard, featuring a label that reads "12/ Revolver Ball/ CARTRIDGES,/ CALIBRE, .45./ Frankford Arsenal, 1875". Box has been opened, with all 12-rds. remaining inside. CONDITION: box is good, showing general age related discoloration overall, as well as some flaking to the waxy exterior layer. Left panel has separated on 3 edges, with the front panel and lid being retained at the bottom edge of the label.
