This varied group of weapons was reportedly gathered by Senator Ralph O. Brewster of Maine during a WWII era round the world flight by 5 US senators. 1) NEPALESE KUKRI. Overall length: 23". Blade marked, “BEST STEEL GUARANTEED”. Kukri is complete w/ 2 smaller knives that fit into the top of the maroon leather scabbard. 2) MOROCCAN KOUMIYYA. Overall length: 16 1/4". Dbl. fullered curved blade w/ 1 piece shaped wood grip. Low grade silver pommel. Low grade silver scabbard is fully decorated w/ intricate Moroccan arabesque designs. Knife is attached to a long silk cord. 3) GERMAN BAYONET. Overall length: 16 1/4". A WWII era Mauser K98 bayonet w/ 2 piece wood grip, black painted iron scabbard & leather frog. 4) MACHETE. Overall length: 23 3/4". Blade marked, “US(crown)LEGITIMUS COLLINS & CO 1942”. 2 Piece composite grip. Canvas scabbard. 5) EUROPEAN BAYONET. Overall length: 18". This bayonet is very similar to an Ersatz M1917 German bayonet w/ the muzzle ring removed. It has a blued blade & scabbard w/ a purple finished steel hilt. 6) QUERT. Overall length: 35". Handle measures approx. 15 1/2" & braided leather black whip section measures 19 1/2". Handle is inlaid w/ bone & mother of pearl Islamic designs. CONDITION: all items show light to moderate wear. Kukri appears unissued. Ersatz bayonet may be refinished.
