Lot of assorted WWII inert ordnance and trench art, including: 1) Inert Imperial Japanese Type 100 81mm mortar round. Exterior features numerous painted Kanji characters, with a yellow band likely denoting HE ammunition. Tail features 3 flash holes between each of the fins. Brass fuse is absent. 2) U.S. Mark II pattern dummy/practice bomb. Body is constructed of wood, with steel fins. Spring assembly is present. Body features a gray painted exterior with a orange painted nose. 3) U.S. 105mm M395 howitzer shell. Base is dated "1969" and exhibits illegible hand inscribed writing. 4) German WWI 77mm shell base, having been cut and modified to resemble a military cap. Base of shell is marked "st/ 6/ JULI 1917/ ANDr./ 60/ ANDr". 5) U.S. WWII M101/M3 105mm artillery shell base fashioned into a cigarette ash tray. Center of ash tray is fitted with a .50 BMG cartridge with a threaded tip. Base is dated "1943". 6) Unidentified approx. 37mm shell fashioned into a lighter with a circular brass base. Upper section of projectile is threaded and covers the lighter. 7) x2 Unidentified approx. 37mm steel projectiles fashioned into small lamps. Circular wood bases. 8) 8mm Mauser rd. Projectile has been split down the center and fitted with a flat brass extension in the form of medieval pike head. CONDITION: projectiles / casings are good, showing scattered handling marks. Steel parts show varying degrees of oxidation, with brass parts having acquired a pleasing mellow patina. Mark II bomb shows scattered handling marks and spots of flaking to the painted exterior.
