This lot consists of the following varied bayonets: 1) US M1917 Bayonet. Remington made M1917 bayonet with repainted leather scabbard. Bayonet has grooved hardwood handles. Scabbard has reapplied gray paint. CONDITION: metal is an overall dull gray patina with scattered oxidation & pitting. Handles show dings, chipping & handling wear. Scabbard shows some scattered light flaking paint. 2) German 98/05 Butcher Bayonet. 1914 dated Simson 98/05 with scabbard & repro leather frog. Grooved wooden handles. CONDITION: metal parts of bayonet are mostly a gray patina with some oxidation & light pitting. Grip panels show some dings & a couple light chips. Scabbard is a gray patina with scattered oxidation & some dents. Repro scabbard is in very good condition. 3) French 1874 T-Back Gras Bayonet. No scabbard present. CONDITION: metal is mostly a dull gray patina with oxidation & dings. Wooden handles show some dings & handling marks. 4) Italian 1870 Vetterli Bayonet. No scabbard present. Blade has Terni arsenal marking. CONDITION: metal is an overall silvery-gray color with oxidation & scattered pitting. Handles have a dark appearance with some handling wear. 5) German 1898 Sawback bayonet. Bayonet is unmarked & likely repro. Leather scabbard present. CONDITION: good to very good with some light edge & storage wear. 6) British Pattern 1888 Bayonet. Leather scabbard present. Blade has Wilkinson markings with 1893 date. Pommel has Nepalese "NEP" marking. Checkered rubber grips. CONDITION: metal parts of bayonet remain partially bright with scattered fading to gray, oxidation & dings. Handles show heavy checkering wear with some dings. Scabbard shows scattered flaking & crazing. 7) Austrian 1888 Export Bayonet. Crossguard has export "IQ" marking & is missing a screw. Steel scabbard & leather frog present. CONDITION: blade & crossguard have been cleaned to bright with some oxidation & pitting. Grips have a dark appearance with some some chips , dings & flaking. Frog shows white staining & crazing. Scabbard is a silvery-gray color with some oxidation. 8) Turkish 1935 Bayonet. Pommel marked "ASFA". No scabbard present. CONDITION: blade appears cleaned with a silvery-gray appearance, some oxidation & scratches. Other metal parts are a dull gray color. Wooden handles area dark color with some small cracks, chips & dings. 8) German 1871 Mauser Bayonet. No scabbard present. Crossguard has unit marking that appears to be for the 54th reserve infantry regiment. Blade has V Jung Suhl maker's marking. Brass grip panels. CONDITION: steel parts of bayonet are a dull gray color with some bright areas, scattered oxidation & some dings. Brass handles are a dull yellow patina with oxidation staining & dings. 10) Repro US M1905 Bayonet. Modern "US 1942" & "USMC" markings on blade. One grip panel missing. USN MK1 scabbard present. Bayonet does not stay in scabbard. CONDITION: good to very good. 11) British scabbard that appears to be for a P14 or SMLE. CONDITION: fair to good with age wear. (02-24433/MJC). $300-600 for lot.
