1) Japanese Type 38 Arisaka Bolt Action Carbine. Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 82517. Bbl. 19". Blade front sight with protective ears. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000m. Matching assembly numbers on floorplate, bayonet lug, rear sight knob, bolt handle, extractor & safety. Firing pin is mismatched & bolt release appears unnumbered. Receiver ring has ground mum & Type 38 markings. Left side of receiver has Tokyo Arsenal marking & serial number. Blued finish with strawed small parts. Asian hardwood stock set with left side sling swivels. No cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: blued Toyoda Automatic Loom Works bayonet with straight crossguard & scabbard. CONDITION: refinished stock set shows a repaired 2" crack on rear of handguard, what appears to be an expert repaired crack on right side of wrist, a couple other small cracks, scattered dings, handling marks & a few abrasions. Metal retains 60% original blue with some grin marks over mum, scattered fading to gray, oxidation & edge wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with strong rifling but shows a couple patches of light pitting. (25-6896/MJC). 2) Late War Nagoya Type 99 Arisaka Bolt Action Rifle. Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 85276. Bbl. 25 1/2". Blade front sight. Fixed aperture rear sight. Firing pin is mismatched but all other parts are matching to receiver. Receiver ring has ground mum. Left side of receiver has Nagoya & 10th series symbols. Blued finish. Asian hardwood stock st with separate forend & two piece butt. Left side sling swivels. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: blued T30 bayonet with hooked crossguard & scabbard. Kokura & Hourglass symbols on blade. Scabbard has some tape remnants. CONDITION: stock set shows long flexing cracks on both sides of wrists, a large gouge on right side of comb, some scattered scratches, dings, chips & handling marks. Metal is mostly a light gray patina with little finish remaining, scattered overall oxidation, edge wear & handling marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bore. (25-6897/MJC).
