1) Austrian Garibaldi Percussion Rifle. Cal. 71. NSN. Bbl. 31". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight. Bbl. has crown "E" proof. Bbl. flat numbered "517". Bbl. has in-the-white appearance. Screw ahead of trigger maybe more recent replacement. Lock assembly appears dull gray. Beech stock set with brass buttplate & trigger guard. Bottom mounted sling swivels. Ramrod present that appears to be a replacement secured by iron thimble & brass pipe. CONDITION: stock shows scattered dings, chipping, handling marks, age cracks & scratches. Brass parts show an old cleaning with scattered oxidation, dings & age related wear. Bbl. shows old cleaning with silvery-gray appearance, scattered pitting, dings & oxidation. Lock is a dark patina with oxidation & some pitting. Action appears to function properly when hand cycled. Bore has strong rifling but the expected scattered oxidation & pitting. (01-28437/MJC).2) Belgian 1859 Percussion Rifled Musket. Cal. 70. NSN. Bbl. 34 1/2". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1000m. Left side of bbl. has circle "E/LG" Belgian proof marking. Belgian made 1859 French style percussion musket. These muskets were imported for use during the American Civil War. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Left side of butt has several old carved letters. Ramrod present. CONDITION: stock has an honest appearance with old finish, a crack behind lock, a few other cracks, chips, dings, handling marks, finish loss & scratches. Metal is a dull gray patina with pitting, oxidation, dings & age related wear. Action appears functional when hand cycled. Oxidized bore. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (01-28442/MJC).
