This lot consists of the following military surplus bolt action rifles: 1. SWEDISH M96 MAUSER BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 6.5x55. S# 74285. Bbl. 29" with import marking. Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000m. Matching-numbered bolt parts; other visible numbers are mismatched. Receiver top has Carl Gustafs markings and a 1900 date. Blued finish. Hardwood stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels and leather sling. Cleaning rod is present. Stock disc removed, and stock has added recoil pad with filled-in buttplate tang. LOP: 14". CONDITION: refinished stock set with added varnish, a tight crack behind the upper tang, a filler repair on the toe of the buttplate, scattered dings, scratches, and handling wear. Metal retains 92% of its arsenal blue with some varnish overrun, scattered edge wear, and light dings. Bore shows scattered frosting but strong rifling. (24-2065/MJC). 2. KOKURA TYPE 99 ARISAKA BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 3727. Bbl. 25 1/2". Blade front sight with protective ears. Aperture rear sight graduated to 1500m with AA wings. Receiver top has a fully intact mum and Type 99 markings. Left side of the receiver has the Kokura symbol, serial number, and 24th series marking. Matching numbers on the bolt handle and bayonet lug. Bolt spring appears weak. Follower assembly and front action screw are missing. Asian hardwood stock with a two-piece butt and left-side sling swivels. Right side of the stock has a white paint marking that reads "THE MARIANAS 1945". Both sides of the stock have Japanese flag art. Replacement cleaning rod, possibly a reproduction, is present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: small Japanese flag, Type 30 bayonet made by an unknown Nagoya subcontractor with scabbard. CONDITION: refinished stock has heavy added varnish with a large repaired crack on the left side of the wrist, scattered chips, gouges, dings, flaking, and handling wear. Metal is turning gray overall, with some tool marks, scattered oxidation, pitting, dings, and traces of blue. Worn, pitted bore. (24-2077/MJC). BOTH CURIO. $800-1,200 for lot.
