1) Early WWI era French aviation Mechanic's insignia measures approx. 2" x 1 1/8". The insignia appears to be silvered brass and depicts a winged propeller with a rotary engine in the center. The rear of the badge appears to have had the pin removed, and the top of the propeller is marked "DEPOSE." CONDITION: badge generally shows light wear, but the pin on the reverse has been removed. (02-23002/BF). 2) Early WWI era French aviation Mechanic's insignia measures approx. 1 1/2" x 1 1/8". The insignia appears to be gilded brass and depicts a four-bladed propeller within an oak and laurel leaf wreath with one extra sprig of leaves at the side. The rear of the badge is unmarked and shows no evidence of having a pin. CONDITION: badge generally shows light wear but does have spots of dark oxidation. (02-23003/BF). 3-4) Two WWI or later era French aviation sweetheart-style pins depict a winged propeller. One pin is thin, stamped, gilded brass; the other pin has aluminum wings and a copper propeller. Neither pin has any markings on the reverse. CONDITION: pins show very light wear. (02-23004/BF). 5) A nice WWI era example of a silver French aviation NCO pilot's wing, measuring approx. 1 5/8" x 7/8". The wings appear to be solid silver and likely made by a jeweler featuring a vertical propeller with a single wing on the right side. The reverse is unmarked and has two silver pins for attachment. CONDITION: wings show light wear overall. (02-23005/BF). 6) A gilded brass WWI era aviation insignia, measuring approx. 1 3/4" x 1". The insignia appears to be gilded brass and depicts a winged vertical propeller. The reverse is unmarked and has a horizontal pin. CONDITION: insignia shows light wear overall. (02-23006/BF). $400-800.
