Cal. 36. S# 34368. Bbl. 7 1/2" oct. w/ London address. 6 Shot cyl. w/ Naval scene roll engraving. Iron backstrap & lg. trigger guard. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl. & wedge have matching numbers. Bbl. & cyl. have British proof marks. One piece walnut grips. Left panel is "LC / A / 13" referring to Company A of the 13th Lower Canada (Province of Quebec) Militia. In 1850, due to Great Britian's involvement in the Crimean War, the Canadian government was ask to procure their own firearms. Purchases in 1855 included 800 Model 1851 revolvers. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to patina showing scattered spots of light pitting & sm. handling marks. Cyl. retains 75% scene. Grips have lightly worn finish w/ scattered scratches & marks retaining clear markings. Good mechanics. Bore retains sound rifling showing spots of light pitting. (01-18873/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,000.
