Pond revolvers were a direct infringement on the Rollin White patent. Production ceased in 1870 when Pond lost a lawsuit brought by Smith & Wesson. 1) Iron Frame Pocket or Belt Revolver. Cal. 32 RF. S# 2605. 5" octagon bbl. with brass blade sight. Round 6 shot cylinder. Tip-up bbl. released by a small button on the left side of the frame. Spur trigger. Walnut 2pc square butt grips. Mfg. 1861 -1870. CONDITON: gray metal. Grips show light wear & marks. Functioning action. Dark lightly pitted bore. 2) Brass Frame Pocket or Belt Model. Cal. 32 RF. S# 226. 4" octagon bbl. with small brass blade sight. Round 6 shot cylinder. Bbl. is released by a long bar on the left side of the frame. Spur trigger. Square butt 2pc rosewood grips. CONDITION: bbl. & cyl. finish has faded to gray. Brass frame is reacquiring a light patina. Refinished grips have a poor fit to the frame. Sound action. Lightly pitted bore has largely intact rifling. 3) Front Loading Revolver. Cal. 22 short. S# 1738. 3 1/2" octagon bbl. with a semi-circular sight. Round 7 shot removable cyl. features sperate front loading chambers. This was a direct attempt to circumvent the Rollin White Patent. Brass frame. Spur trigger. Rosewood 2pc square butt grips. Estimated production of 2,000 mfg. 1863-1870. CONDITI0N: removeable front loading chambers are not present. Bbl. has 70% lightly faded blue, hammer shows some remaining case colors. Brass frame exhibits a mild uncleaned patina. Grips show light wear. Sound action. The bore is generally bright with some light pitting. (01-28862/DS). ALL ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
