SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER SHOTGUN WITH EXTRA BARRELS AND CASE AND FINE SEMI RELIEF ENGRAVING BY TERZI. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 15056 (1981). The top of the Franchi line, this fine gun is supplied with 2 sets of chopper lump barrels; one measuring 25 5/8", the other 27 7/8". Both are fitted with slightly raised matted game ribs holding white beads. Left barrels are engraved "S.P.A. LUIGI FRANCHI BRESCIA MADE IN ITALY". Barrel flats are stamped with 1981 Italian nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers along with Franchi logos. Bottoms of barrels are stamped with steel type (Boehler Antinit). Coin finished sidelock action with model and proofs stamped on watertable features non automatic safety, bushed strikers and single non selective trigger by Fabbri. Action is engraved with full coverage, very finely cut and shaded tangle of branches, cinqfoil leaves and scroll. Engraver's signature "Terzi A" is on trigger plate. Top lever thumb piece is pierced and sculpted in the form of a crouching gargoyle. Top lever, safety, trigger and single beaded trigger guard are blued. Engraving that matches action are on all parts except trigger. Straight grip buttstock of intricately marbled and burl figured European walnut measures 14 1/8" over checkered wood butt. Stock features drop points and point pattern checkering on semi diamond hand. Matching beavertail ejector forend with Anson release has gold "Imperial Monte Carlo" crowned devise inlet into central uncheckered diamond. MEASUREMENTS: 25 5/8" BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .725". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in its original dark brown leather case lined in green felt, which contains instruction book, guarantee card and bags for action and both sets of barrels. CONDITION: exceptionally fine, essentially unfired since proof. Retaining nearly all original finishes on wood and metal. There are some assembly scratches on short barrel set and forend iron. Gun presently will not fire, most likely due to congealed oil in locks. Top lever, extractors, etc. have needed Kroil to be freed up. Case leather has a fair number of scratches and scuffs. Interior felt is good. A new Imperial Monte Carlo Extra as presently made by Beretta sells for over $145,000 with one barrel set. This is a very fine gun. (22-5658/MGM). MODERN. $10,000-20,000.
