A scarce example of the 1912 experimental accoutrement set for the cavalry utilizing the cotton canvas ammo belt w/ attached carbine securing ring together w/ the leather carbine boot/bucket. Canvas belt has 9 pouches for 30 cal. 03 Springfield ammunition & a double pocket pouch for 45 Auto clips. The ring attachment allows securing of the rifle & the leather strap attaches to the trigger guard to prevent loss of the rifle during a gallop. The ring works in conjunction w/ the boot/bucket to effectively secure the rifle. Boot marked, “ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL 1918 O.H.W.”. Belt marked, “RUSSELL JUNE 1918”. CONDITION: belt shows light wear & minor staining. Boot/bucket shows expected scuffs & scrapes but remains solid. (02-13688 /BF). $400-600.
