This spectacular, full-standing, mounted black bear measuring 74" high atop of a 4 1/2" base that measures 33" x 30"; finished to resemble a forest floor. This six-foot bear, was harvested by Louis Drake in Manitoba. At the time that Louis bagged the bear. It was considered a record and we understand that it's in the Manitoba record books. All his life, Lewis has hunted primarily with either flintlocks, percussion, and eventually longbow. This bear was harvested with a longbow. CONDITION: the mount, because of its size, has an imposing presence, and is generally in excellent condition. The taxidermy work was top shelf, and the bear presents so realistically. A phenomenal addition to anyone's game room. PROVENANCE: from the renowned collection of quality sporting arms from Lewis Drake together with inventory of Lewis Drake Associates. (02-23612/BF). $1,000-2,000.
