PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 59688. Bbl. 6 1/2". Navy Model single action percussion revolver mfg. by Manhattan Fire Arms Co. Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Manhattan Fire Arms' single line address. Left side of the bbl. and sides of cyl. exhibit British Crown/V and Crown/GP proofs. Underside of rear grip strap is stamped with (apparent) rack # "23". Rear of cyl. is marked with patent information, with x5 vignettes marked around the circumference of the cyl. between foliate engraving with floral motifs. Silver plated brass trigger guard and rear grip strap with 1-piece varnished wood grip. German silver half-moon blade front sight and hammer notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger guard, rear grip strap, cyl. base pin, cyl., bbl., and bbl. wedge. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: contemporary wood display case containing an original Manhattan Fire Arms 2-cavity bullet mold. CONDITION: metal components have faded to a brown patina, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light to mild pitting. Cyl. vignettes have worn and are mostly indiscernible. Trigger guard retains fair amounts of silver plating, with the balance having faded to a mellow patina. Rear grip strap retains scant traces of plating. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of moderate pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grip shows some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (01-29414/MLW). ANTIQUE. $650-900.
