Cal. 22 LR / 44 Shotshell. S# 1274. Bbl. 18 1/8". Model 1908 Game Getter combination gun mfg. by the Marble Safety Axe Co. of Gladstone, MI. The left side of the breechblock is marked "-MANUFACTURED BY THE-/ MARBLE SAFETY AXE CO./ -GLADSTONE, MICH.U.S.A.", with the cal. designation on the right. Frame is marked "GAME GETTER" on the left, with "PATENT/ ALLOWED" within an oval on the right. S# is stamped on the interior of the frame, beneath the breechblock. Major metal components exhibit a nicely reapplied blued finish with the hammer exhibiting a case color hardened finish and the under-folding skeleton stock exhibiting a nickel plated finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Marbles checkered brown hard rubber grips. Brass beaded blade front sight with breech mounted flip-up rear sight and tang mounted Marble's aperture rear sight. CONDITION: very good with major metal components retaining the majority of their reapplied blue finish plus some areas of light wear and thinning overall. Some spots of light surface oxidation. Mirror bores with the .22 bore exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks from storage and handling with the bottom of the left panel exhibiting a small chip at the rear. PROVENANCE: from The Estate of Harry Henry. (24-3926/MLW).
