PLATIMUM INLAID DELUXE TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 25-20 Marlin. S# 135330. Bbl. 24" octagon to round. Bead front sight w/ sporting rear sight & combination tang sight. Half length takedown mag. Case colored action w/ full coverage No. 10 factory engraving. Engraving features vignettes of woodland scene w/ bull & cow elk on left side & squirrel perched on a branch on right side. Scenes are highlighted by gold inlaid borders & surrounded by leaf style foliate engraving w/ punch dot backgrounds. Upper & lower receiver areas have highlights & geometric borders that continue to the lever. The breech end of the bbl. is highlighted w/ 3 bands, 2 gold & 1 platinum. Sides of hammer have borderline engraving w/ platinum wire inlaid highlights. Forearm & S curve pistol grip stock of gloss finished fancy walnut w/ hard rubber buttplate. Style No. 10 hand checkering features oakleaf highlights at front of pistol grip checkering & rear of the forearm pattern. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: records check from the Cody Firearms Museum Records Office detailing the following information, "MARLIN MODEL 1894 - SERIAL NUMBER 135330 / Type: Rifle / Caliber: 25 / Barrel Type: 1/2 Octagon / Barrel Length: 24 inches / Pistol grip stock / Half magazine / Takedown / Date Shipped: April 12, 1897". CONDITION: bbl. & mag. tube retain 80% lightly worn blue w/ scattered scratches & small spots of corrosion. Action, hammer & lever retain nicely visible case colors in largely protected areas w/ balance fading to gray showing small spots of corrosion & light pitting. Original wood finish shows small wear spots w/ scattered scratches, marks & small dents. Stock is missing a chip at the toe. Sound action. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling.
