RIFLE. Cal. 32 RF. S# 266551. Bbl. 24" tapered octagon having dovetailed base with brass blade front sight and standard V notched elevator adjustable rear. Mfg. 1903 (1892-1916); predecessor to Model 39 having flat top receiver with "MARLIN SAFETY" marking plus crescent buttplate. CONDITION: good overall appearance with refinished stock having buttplate proud of wood. Extra stock finish extending onto metal. Grey toned metal finish with some occasional peppery oxidation. Refinished metal with traces of prior light pitting on receiver; barrel and mag. tube have appearance of cold bluing as does buttplate. Slightly bent lever not parallel to lower tang. Fair to good bore with wear and cleaned, even light pitting; distinct but worn rifling. PROVENANCE STATEMENT: Estate collection of Thomas F. Wolfinger. (22-6110/NW). CURIO. $350-500.
