Cal. 40-60 Marlin. S#. 5057. Bbl. 28" octagon. Rocky mountain front w/ sporting rear sight. Full length tubular mag. Second variation heavy receiver w/o bottom step at front having rounded junction at top tang. Walnut forearm & straight grip walnut stock having a curved steel buttplate. Mfg. in 1883. CONDITION: bbl. retains 30% dull fading blue. Mag. tube, action, and fittings have largely faded to gray showing spots of surface corrosion. Forearm has worn finish showing scratches and marks with a long crack on the left side. Stock shows wear, handling marks, and small dents with small chip out of the center of the right side of the butt. Good mechanics. Good bright bore. (01-27264/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,250.
