Cal. 38-55. S# 192931. This rifle was shipped from Marlin factory Oct. 14th, 1899. Barrel 26" of half rnd. , half oct. configuration. Lyman white bead front sight, elevator rear sight & tang mounted peep sight. Replacement full length mag. tube. Walnut stock set with Marlin hard rubber buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original mag. tube & spring in fair condition. Copy of Marlin ledger. CONDITION: barrel blue is fading to gray/brown patina with marks, small dents & peppery oxidation. Good blue on replacement mag. tube. Receiver has cleaned gray patina appearance with cleaning pitting & scratches. Front sight base & front mag. tube dovetail marred from installation. Wood has been lightly sanded & refinished with wood plug repair at wrist, & scattered small gouges. Good bore shows wear to lands. (25-1613/MD). CURIO. $700-1,100.
