Cal. 16 GA. S# 114480. Bbl. 26" plain with steel bead. IC choke, .011 constriction is not marked on the bbl. Exposed hammer action has generous coverage of C Grade hand engraving. Left side vignette shows 4 mallards. Side of breechbolt shows 2 flying pigeons. Surrounding areas of receiver sides and top tang have a light coverage of scroll engraving with wavy line borders. Top of receiver has raised knurled sighting surface. Small round forearm and S curved pistol grip stock of nicely grained walnut with hand checkering. LOP: altered to 14 5/8" over an aftermarket Pachmayr White Line pad and 1/4" spacer. Marlin slide action shotguns were mfg. 1898-1912. CONDITION: over 70% lightly faded blue showing carry and edge wear with spotted light corrosion and handling marks. Wood has dark worn finish and checkering showing numerous dents, scratches, and marks. Action has rough function. Good bright bore. (25-4476/DS). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
