ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 GA. S# 50338. Bbl. 28". Top of the rnd. bbl. is marked with Marlin's mfg. and patent information with "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL." marked on the left. Sides of receiver feature factory C grade engraving consisting of wavy line borders and scrollwork, with the left side also featuring a scene of 4 flying mallard. Underside of receiver is engraved with a foliate motif around the S#. Wavy line borders and scroll engraving extends to the upper receiver tang, with 2 pigeons and additional scrollwork engraved on the right side of the breechblock. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Checkered walnut pump and pistol grip buttstock, which is fitted with 5 spacers and an unmarked black rubber recoil pad. Raised matte knurled rib on frame with aluminum bead front sight. Underside of bbl. is marked "52851M". CONDITION: metal components retain fair amounts of their original factory blue finish, with the balance fading to a mottled gray patina and exhibiting scattered scratches and light surface oxidation. Bore exhibits consistent mild pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows spots/areas of wear to its varnish finish, with scattered marks, scratches, and impressions overall.
