ACTION RIFLE WITH FACTORY BOX & SLEEVE. Cal. 22 S, L, LR. S# 7188665. Bbl 20". Model 39M Article II lever action rifle mfg. by Marlin commemorating the 100th anniversary of the National Rifle Association. The octagonal bbl. is marked with the model designation, followed by Marlin's mfg. information on the top flat, with the cal. designation on the left. Right side of receiver exhibits a medallion with "THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS" and "1871 * 1971" within the outer ring, and an eagle with crossing rifles in the center. Metal components exhibit a blued finish, with the buttplate and forend cap being comprised of brass. Smooth plain American walnut straight grip buttstock and forend. Brass beaded blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original factory box (that appears to be matching with the last couple of digits no longer being present on the label), with commemorative sleeve. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few scattered marks from handling and storage. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture is excellent overall. Box shows age related discoloration with some tearing and mild handling marks.
