Cal. 444 Marlin. S# 71 139222. Bbl. 24" round with Micro Groove Rifling. Hooded ramp bead front sight and folding leaf rear sight. Band fastened 2/3 length mag. Action has gold finished trigger and optional hammer extension. Redfield 2X-7X 32 gloss finish scope with duplex reticle on Redfield rings in one piece base. Band fastened forearm and Monte Carlo stock of fancy walnut feature swivel bases, original Marlin ventilated pad and trademark in toeline. When introduced in 1965 the model 444 was the most powerful lever action rifle on the market. CONDITION: over 98% original blue. Stock finish shows a few scattered marks with a repaired chip left of top tang. Bright near excellent bore. Scope has clear optics. (22-5360/DS). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
