RIFLE. Cal. 22 RF S# 31395. Bbl. 30" rnd. custom measuring 1" across the muzzle. Globe front sight with mid-range Vernier tang sight. Case colored action with double set triggers. Finger loop lever has added brass finger rest. Walnut forearm with sliding folding palm rest on an iron rail. Cheekpiece perch belly stock of nicely grained walnut with checkering at wrist and nickel finished brass schuetzen buttplate. Weight: 13lbs. 10oz. The Ballard No. 5 was mfg. 1876-1891. CONDITION: bbl. retains 80% dull blue fading to brown. Action has 50% light and fading case colors. Wood has an age darkened worn appearance with worn checkering showing scratches and handling marks. Sound action with functioning double set trigger. Bore is generally bright with sound rifling. (01-26284/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,500-3,750.
