ORIGINAL CASE. 1960’s To 1970’s construction, this enormous spotting scope mounts on a David & Sanford floating action tripod. Measuring a whopping 29" in length, w/ a 100mm objective & 32X eyepiece, this impressive optic is as valuable on the range as it is the focal point of a collection. Scope finish is a variant of gray wrinkle paint & stenciled on the center of the body “2 USA AMU”. Glass is clear on both objective, as well as eyepiece. 360 Degrees of rotation. It can be locked on 1 target or manually directed at several w/ ease. Body of scope near eyepiece is engraved & highlighted white: “UNERTL” / “M-100”. Silver band around body at eyepiece end is engraved: “NO. M-257”. Included w/ this lot is an original case which measures 44.5x16x8.5" painted gray & of extremely rugged construction. Still retains original data plate which reads: “100mm Spotting Telescope J.Unertl / Opt CO. / Pittsburgh, PA”. Also included is something that has the appearance of a camera adapter consisting of a 4.5" diameter mounting plate, a heavily magnified lens that doesn’t move & a data plate that reads “CLEAR / NEUTRAL / RED / AMBER” in four quadrants.
