18” overall, 13” clip point blade, “G. WOSTENHOLM & SON / WASHINGTON WORKS / NONE ARE GENUINE BUT THOSE / MARKED I*XL”, on blade length: “THE REAL I*XL KNIFE” & “THE HUNTERS COMPANION”. Heavy reinforced solid German silver cross guard, stag grip slabs. Picture and described on page 365 of Norm Flayderman’s “THE BOWIE KNIFE”. Leather scabbard with riveted belt loop is later addition. CONDITION: good overall, well used, stained and pitted, model is only partially discerned due to pitting. Accompanying leather scabbard is good. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E.
