BOTH: cal. about 69. NSN. Bbls. 7 7/8" of smoothbore twist steel having rnd. to oct. configuration w/ floral carved & faceted transitions. Bbl. flats have gold filled fleur de lis markings. Lockplates have borderline engraving w/ bird behind hammers. Ornate sculpted hammers have wolf's head engraving. Pin fastened walnut stocks w/ flared butts. Stocks have moldered borders around ramrod channels, bbl. channels, backstraps, as well as lock & sideplates. Finely checkered wrists have carved borders w/ punch dot highlights. Stock ornamentation includes hand checkering w/ fancy borders. German silver fittings & ornamentation consist of pierced dbl. headed eagles on forearm bottoms, fancy finialed trigger guards, buttcaps, sideplates & backstraps that have floral engraving. Iron ramrods have wooden button tips & held by 2 faceted German Silver pipes that match the forearm tip rings. CONDITION: metal parts of both pistols have faded to gray w/ scattered spots of light pitting. German silver fittings have acquired patches of dark patina. Stocks have worn finish. One stock has cracks & chips along both sides of forend. Wood ramrods tips are chipped. Both have sound mechanics. Dark pitted bores. (01-17816(2)/DS). BOTH ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
