DOUBLE TRIGGER GAME GUNS WITH CASE. Cal. 12 Ga. 2 3/4" (both). S# 5200 & 5201. These good quality handmade guns have 25-1/4" chopper lump barrels fitted with matted Churchill type ribs. Importer "Beretta USA" is on left sides. Rear portions of ribs, top levers and forend tips are gold inlaid with "1" or "2" denoting a true pair. Barrel flats are stamped with S#'s and 1973 Italian nitro proofs. Bottoms of barrels are engraved with information regarding design and commissioning for the building of this pair of guns for Avvocato Ernesto Ferettini. Case hardened sidelock actions feature non-automatic safetys and double triggers, fronts articulated. Actions are engraved with near full coverage very well cut varying size open shaded scroll. Maker's name and address is on each side, bottoms of actions are engraved "HAMMERLESS" "MOD CHURCHILL" "XXV". Trigger plates are signed by engraver "F. Iora 1973" (Ferruccio born in 1924 well known for his scroll and forend inlays). Trigger guards with scroll on bows have S#'s on tangs. Straight grip buttstocks of very well matched figured and marbled European walnut measure 14" over checkered wood butts and feature standard drop points, well cut point pattern grip checkering and vacant gold ovals. Matching splinter ejector forends with Anson releases have gold inlaid Zanotti logos on uncheckered central diamonds. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Gun #1 S# 5200. Bore Diameter: L .734. R .734. Guns appear to be nearly "as new" with only some extractor wipe marks on breech faces. There are only some very minor handling and assembly marks on all exterior finishes, most notably some minor scratches on the barrels of Gun #1. Bores are bright and shiny.
