1851 NAVY SINGLE ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 72454. Bbl. 7 1/2". Third variation Model 1851 Navy single action percussion revolver mfg. by Colt in 1857. The top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Colt's mfg. information towards the breech. Left side of frame is stamped "COLTS/ PATENT". Cyl. features a faint naval scene. Iron construction, with small rounded iron trigger guard. 1-piece smooth wood grip. All numbers are matching and include the frame, cyl., cyl. base pin, bbl., bbl. loading lever, bbl. wedge, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. Bbl. wedge screw is not present. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a mottled gray patina overall, exhibiting scattered handling marks and some areas of mild pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of mild to moderate pitting and retaining fair rifling throughout. Grip shows scattered marks and some minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (01-24481/MLW). ANTIQUE. $600-900.
