SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 4694u. Bbl. 4". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1939. The bbl. extension is marked with the 4-digit year of mfg. "1939" over the chamber, with Mauser Eagle/63 proofs and a parteiadler (repeated on right side of bbl. and left side of breechblock) marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish, with the takedown lever, safety lever, and extractor exhibiting a reapplied / reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece contemporary aftermarket checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, bbl., bbl. extension, and trigger bar. Breechblock and toggles match each other via "08". Hold-open latch and firing pin are mismatched. MAGS: x1 contemporary blued steel 8-rd. with black synthetic plug. CONDITION: metal components retain virtually all of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some light superficial handling marks and spots of light pitting overall. Strawed parts show varying hues from heat treatment, with some light wear fading to silvering. Bore exhibits consistent mild to moderate pitting, while retaining fair to good rifling throughout.
