PISTOL. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 918326. Bbl. 5 5/8". Model 1930 Commercial C96 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser. Top flat of the faceted breech is marked with Mauser's 3-line address, with a double crown over "U" commercial proof (repeated on top of bolt) marked on the left quarter flat. Left side of the frame exhibits a large Mauser banner logo, with "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/ OBERNDORF A.NECKAR/ D.R.P.u.A.P." marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall, with the bolt being polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Fixed blade front sight with V-notch tangent rear sight graduated 50-1000. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, sub-frame, floorplate, as well as the bbl./bbl. extension. Bolt stop appears to be a replacement. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, scattered scratches and superficial marks, as well as areas of mild pitting on the frame and bbl. extension. Floorplate exhibits notable scratches and appears to have been touched up at one time. In-the-white parts show some scattered spots of light pitting. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some scattered marks and impressions, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-4256/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
