WITH STOCK. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 52240. Bbl. 5 1/2". Pre-War Commercial Mauser C96 with fixed front sight and tangent rear sight graded 50-1000. Short extractor, two-lug firing pin, small ring hammer, thin trigger. Three-line address on top of chamber with full S# on left chamber flat. Crown/C/U on the left side of the barrel extension. Two-line Mauser address on the right side of the frame. Fully matching internally and externally except for serrated grips that are unnumbered. Lanyard loop is present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original Mauser stock with looped hinge and matching lug # "240". CONDITION: VG+ retaining approx. 95% original bright original blue with wear in expected places around muzzle, under bbl., front of mag. well that also has scattered nicks. Most blue remaining on front strap. Small parts with approx. 60% original blue with thinning/discoloration. G-VG grips that have been refinished/likely replacements with oil darkening, the lower portion of the left panel having been smoothed, flattened. Bright bore, oxidation, shallow rifling. Correct manual mechanics. Good stock with oil darkened body having numerous handling marks, hinge largely faded to gray/brown, and comparable condition lug. A very nice looking and matching rig, whose unnumbered grips are likely replacements. (25-3496/LMA). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
