SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 309642. Bbl 5 1/2". C96 manufactured by Mauser during World War I for commercial sales. The right side of the frame and top flat of the chamber bear Mauser's manufacturer information. Double crown/U proof is stamped on the left side of the receiver, with an Imperial German military acceptance proof stamped on the right. Major metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish, with some smaller components exhibiting a nitre blued finish. Bolt has been heated. Frame is mounted with 2 piece grooved wood grips. All numbers are matching and include the frame, floorplate, barrel/receiver, bolt, bolt stop, lock frame, hammer, sear, locking block, as well as the grips. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their period reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some mild wear and thinning, with some scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as some spots of light oxidation. Bright bore, exhibiting mild pitting and well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling, but are otherwise very good overall.
