CARBINE. Cal. 50. S# 22519. Bbl. 20" round w/ octagon shank. Semicircular front sight w/ 2 folding leaf rear sight. Lever operated action. Bbl. tips down for loading. Center mounted hammer. Straight grip walnut stock w/ steel buttplate. Approx 20,000 mfg. 1863-1865 during the American Civil War. CONDITION: metal has largely faded to a mottled gray color showing spots of light pitting. Stock has lightly worn finish & retains a sharp cartouche. Dark pitted bore w/ partially intact rifling. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (01-22563/DS).
