SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Merwin & Hulbert. S# 5130. Bbl. 7" with integral semi-circular sight. Early open top action with 6-shot fluted cyl. and square butt featuring lanyard ring. Bbl. rotates and slides forward with cyl. for extraction. Right side of frame has a sliding loading gate. Original finish was full nickel. 2-piece checkered mottled red and black hard rubber grips. Mfg. 1876 into the 1880s. CONDITION: over 30% nickel finish blending with areas and spots of dark corrosion, light pitting, and scratches. Wedge over cyl. base pin on right side of bbl. is missing. Action release button on bottom of frame is missing. Grips show moderate wear. Functioning action. Dark bore with intact rifling showing spots of pitting. (01-27168/DS). ANTIQUE. $600-1,000.
