BY WILSON. Cal. 65. NSN. Bbl. 8" swamped rnd. w/ London gun maker’s proofs & bbl. maker’s mark crowned “F” at left rear. Original flintlock w/ rounded plate, serpentine cock, integral rounded pan, unbridled frizzen & feather spring w/ fancy filed finial is engraved “WILSON” in front of cock & w/ some scroll behind. Early style stock w/ long radius to butt & swell at ramrod entrance has raised fields around lock, side plate & bbl. tang. Furniture is brass w/ heavy knobbed grip cap w/ side straps. Trigger guard w/ bud finial & rounded serpentine side plate. Wooden ramrod mounts through single brass pipe w/ out thimble. Medallion at top of grip has interesting engraving of a lion’s face at top. CONDITION: original flint lock, iron parts w/ dark brown patina w/ some cleaned highlights to gray. Stock w/ dark varnish shows repairs around butt. Ramrod replaced. (01-19437/MGM).
