Overall length from end to end: 21 1/2" approx. Blade length: approx. 7 1/4". Curved blade has a raised medial ridge & a bright polish. Hilt is mounted w/ very ornate silver beading & decoration. Decoration includes intricate work on flat pieces of silver, silver pins imbedded into the horn handle & an encased red, semiprecious or precious stone. The sides & pommel have raised flower like silver decorations. The face of the scabbard has extremely ornate silver coverings w/ heavy repousse work. There is another intricately encased red stone approx. 4” down from the throat of the scabbard. The tip of the scabbard has an unbelievably ornate finial completely done in silver. The reverse of the scabbard is some type of black leather w/ a lg. silver throat encompassing the top. CONDITION: blade has scattered areas of cleaned oxidation. Silver work on the hilt & outside of the scabbard is truly outstanding. Jambiya shows little wear overall. (02-15614-1/BF). $400-700.
