Cal. 9.5 M.S. (.375 NE 2-1/4"). S# 8026. The 24" lightweight round barrel is fitted with standard one standing, one folding leaf rear sight and silver bead front in sleeved on ramp. Rear portion is stamped with London nitro proofs for 9.5mm bullet at 270 grains and 43 grains of cordite. Standard Mannlicher Schoenaur action has model 1910 markings on stippled receiver ring and Steyr markings on sidewall. Bolt has standard flat handle with matching S#. The rifle is fitted with single trigger. Half stock is fitted with usual Mannlicher takedown system with removable pin at front, toggling lock in trigger guard bow and iron in stock at rear of action. Grip cap is of trap type with detent at rear allowing grip cap to be turned and removed; trap holds a spare front sight. Stock is of lightly figured European walnut which is light in color and measures 14-3/4" over steel buttplate with trap. Standard point pattern checkering is at grip and forend. Stock is fitted with sling loops. What is most likely a Kenya registration number, "62571" is stamped on toeline. CONDITION: very good to fine. Metal retaining over 80% of original blue. There is some deep rust on barrel probably the result of being carried over someone's shoulder and held with a bloody hand. Stock is lightly refinished; checkering remains good. Bore is bright and shiny throughout with sharp rifling. Mechanically fine. (24-4160/MGM). CURIO. $1,000-2,000.
