30" Overall, 20" high, 6" wide. Displayed in 34x24x11 1/2" case. This model was made by George Clifton Hood (1862-1939) of Turner & Phillips, ME who was a crew member on such a vessel in the early 1880s. This model is like the one he sailed on. Model is made from numerous pieces of wood, sm. pieces of carved lead & string. Wood is all painted black. CONDITION: good to very good overall, though not removed from case. The lead simulated rigging turn buckles, straps, etc. have all oxidized white/grey. Deck has scattered areas of lead oxide which has fallen from the numerous lead accessories. PROVENANCE: Phillips Historical Society, Phillips ME. (02-13950/JS). $300-500.
