REVOLVER. Cal. 32 Teat-Fire. S# 3296. Bbl. 3 1/4". Teat-Fire single action revolver mfg. by Moore's Patent Firearms. Top of the bbl. is marked "MOORE S PAT. FIRE ARMS CO. BROOKLYN N.Y.". Rear edge of cyl. is marked "D. WILLIAMSON'S PATENT JANUARY 5. 1864". Sides of frame feature a single line bordered panel of foliate scrollwork on a punch dot background, with small foliate scroll motifs engraved on the sides of the trigger spur, top and bottom of the frame, as well as on the sides of the bbl. Frame exhibits a silver plated finish, with the cyl. and bbl. exhibiting a blue finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece plain wood bird's head grips. German silver half-moon blade front sight with V-notch rear sight on hammer. All numbered parts are matching via the assembly # "AF96" and include the frame, cyl., cyl. base pin, bbl., and bbl. wedge. Interior of grips are matching via "96", which is handwritten in pencil. CONDITION: frame retains large amounts to the majority of its original silver plated finish, exhibiting some spots and patches of wear that show through to a mellow brass patina. Cyl. retains large amounts of its original blue finish, exhibiting streaks of wear fading to gray patina, areas of wear and thinning fading to brown patina, as well as a consistent scattering of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Bbl. has primarily faded to a mottled gray patina, exhibiting some scattered spots and small patches of darkened light surface oxidation. Very bright bore, exhibiting some scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting (primarily towards the rear half of the bbl.) while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Action does not function properly, with the cyl. only occasionally rotating when the hammer is cocked. Grips show some superficial handling marks and some spots of flaking to their varnish, but otherwise remain sound. (01-26721/MLW). ANTIQUE. $700-900.
