Cal. 22 LR. S# 22804. Bbl. 2 1/2". Brownie 4-bbl. pistol mfg. by O.F. Mossberg & Sons between 1919-1932. Left side of the bbl. block is marked "O.F. MOSSBERG & SONS/ NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.", with patent information marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked "-Brownie-", with the S# marked on the butt. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved wood grips. Fixed blade front sight with grooved rear sight on top strap of bbl. latch. All serialized parts are matching, with the bbl. and bbl. latch matching via "804". CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting wear fading to gray patina, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation present overall. Right side of frame exhibits a patch of moderate oxidation / pitting. Top of bbl. latch has been lightly ground at one time. Bores exhibit scattered spots and patches of moderate pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a crack that stems from the screw slot. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret.
