Cal. 69. S# NSN. The 42" barrel is rifled with three grooves in the manner of the Plymouth rifle, has rear sight removed, mounting dovetail and screw hole remaining. A separate bolster has been fitted. Model 1816 lockplate is marked "US" & "W.T. WICKHAM" in front of hammer and "PHILa" "1828" on tail. Walnut stock attaches to barrel with three spring retained bands and is iron mounted. Buttplate is stamped "US". Trigger guard has sling loop at front of bow. US inspector's marks are on left side panel. Right side of stock is carved "WCW" on butt. CONDITION: fair. Metal parts cleaned to pewter over considerable pitting. Wood shows heavy refinish. Inspector's marks not legible. Bore is dark; rifling evident. Lock is good. (01-25595/MGM). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
