J. KNOWLES HARE. (American, 1884- 1947). Circa 1911. The triptych consists of a central image of a man and woman in a birch bark canoe. Flanked by a Native American chief with bow shielding his eyes from the sun and a Native American maiden with bow and arrow on the right. Housed in a arts and crafts style oak frame applied with decorative devices such as a bow and arrow, arrow in flight, quivver, peace pipe, canoe and tomahawk. Marked lower left corner of center panel "© 1911 / J. Knowles Hare". SIZE: overall 18" x 32". CONDITION: very good with in use wear. PROVENANCE: Martin Lane Historic & Western Americana Lifetime Collection. (02-21590/TG). $200-400.
