TAKEDOWN RIFLE WITH MATCHING FACTORY BOX. Cal. 22 LR. S# 15888T57. Bbl. 19 3/8". SA-22 semi-automatic takedown rifle mfg. in Japan and imported/retailed by Browning Arms Company. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Browning's importer information above "MADE IN JAPAN", with the cal. designation above "BROWNING PATENTS" marked on the right. Sides of receiver feature wavy line borders, with foliate motifs engraved at the center. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. High gloss checkered wood pistol grip buttstock and forend. Brass beaded blade front sight, with flip-up U-notch rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: matching factory box containing factory paperwork. CONDITION: near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a layer of what appears to be factory grease overall. Fine bore, exhibiting grease and well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture is excellent. Box show some light exterior wear, with a small hole on the top of the lid, but otherwise is very good overall. PROVENANCE: Lifelong Collection of Terrence McCarty. (24-75/MLW). MODERN. $800-1,200.
