SINGLE ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER WITH FACTORY BOX. Cal. 36. S# 23686. Bbl. 7 1/2". Second Generation Model 1851 Navy percussion revolver mfg. by Colt. Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Colt's single line address. Left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/ PATENT". Frame, hammer, and loading lever exhibit a case color hardened finish, with the bbl., bbl. wedge, cyl., trigger, and screws exhibiting a blue finish. Brass trigger guard and grip strap with 1-piece smooth wood grip. Brass cone front sight with hammer notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., bbl., loading lever, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: factory wood grain box without end label. Lot is also accompanied by a Colt factory congratulatory letter. CONDITION: near new, with metal components exhibiting a layer of grease and retaining virtually all of their original factory finishes overall. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grip shows 2 small light superficial marks on the left side. Box shows mild exterior wear, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (01-27135/MLW).
