Cal. 410, 3". S# 23000. Bbl. 26" solid rib, fixed Skeet choke and steel bead. Action has full coverage engraving similar to Winchester 12-5 by Master Engraver Neil Hartliep. The late Neil Hartliep was a self taught engraver, guest instructor at Trinidad Colorado State college beginning in 1979 and later instructed with the NRA Gunsmithing Schools Program. In 1985 he was the author of "The Basics of Firearm Engraving", an NRA Education and Training Publication. Right side receiver scene depicts 6 gold inlaid quail. Left side scene shows 3 flushing gold inlaid partridge, a silver inlaid setter and gold inlaid pointer. Scenes are surrounded by vine type foliate scroll with punch dot backgrounds, gold wire borders and geometric highlights. Complimentary engraving extends to upper and lower receiver areas, trigger guard bow along with breech and muzzle ends barrel. Breech block and carrier are engraved in an attractive scroll pattern. Custom beavertail forearm and straight grip stock of fancy hand checkered black walnut. LOP: 13 5/8" over Winchester buttplate. Mfg. 1936. This is Neil's personal shotgun. It is pictured on page 103 of the NRA Gunsmithing Schools Program manual. CONDITION: fine as upgraded. 97% blue showing slide wear. Wood finish shows scattered small marks. Very good bright bore.
