Cal. 55. NSN. The octagon 33" barrel has globe bead front sight, elevator adjustable rear sight & barrel attached aperture "lollipop" sight having tang mounted elevation adjustable wheel & 9.5" stem; filler in previous used front dovetail. Top of barrel engraved appears to be engraved with initials "CT". Double set triggers; conventional rear is set. New York style wedge fastened half length walnut stock with replacement brass wedge, finger curl trigger guard, circular patch box & crescent buttplate. Brass furniture includes side plate & forearm plate on bottom of forearm. German silver ornamentation includes nose cap, forearm side plates, star on buttplate, shield on toeline, name plate on right side of buttstock engraved "N. GP". Hardwood ramrod held by 2 pipes. CONDITION: barrel has brown gray patina appearance with scattered areas of pitting, dents & corrosion. Lock has poor fit to stock. Stock has numerous cracks, wood repairs & small gouges. Dark pitted bore with strong rifling. (01-25099/MD). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
