Cal. 32 S&W. S# 8776. Bbl. 3 1/4". Round blade front sight. Fixed u-notch rear sight. Matching numbers on frame, bbl., cyl. & extractor. Backstrap has "NEWARK POLICE NO. 196" marking denoting use by Newark, NJ police. Cyl. has various S&W patent markings. Nickel finish with case colored hammer & trigger. Checkered brown hard rubber grips with mismatched right panel & S&W monograms. CONDITION: grips show scattered dings, handling marks & checkering wear. Hammer & trigger retain strong traces of case colors with overall fading to gray & some light oxidation. Balance of metal retains most of its original nickel finish with a few spots of light flaking, some light oxidation spots & a drag line on cyl. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Good bright bore with scattered frosting & light pitting. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of George Staden S&W Member #3451. (25-35/MJC). CURIO. $1000-1500.
